I Tried and Tested 5 Organic Baby Bath Products – Here’s Why They’re Amazing!

As a parent, choosing the best products for your child’s delicate skin, and protecting her from all skin irritation and allergies was my priority. With so many options on the market, it was difficult to find the best ones. That’s why I resolved to take issues into my own hands. After sampling and evaluating seven different organic infant bath products, I learned not only the advantages of becoming organic, but also which ones really stand out. Here’s my journey and what I discovered to be the best for my children.

Why Choose Organic Baby Bath Products?

We are all aware of the negative consequences that chemical products have on both our health and the environment. Small babies have very delicate and sensitive skin and it’s easily prone to rashes and allergies.

Almost all store-bought products are loaded with chemicals and scientists have been painstakingly examining these goods’ effects on human health and the environment. It’s worth mentioning that our ancestors had very little access to store-bought baby bath products just a few decades ago. Instead, they relied on homemade mixtures produced with natural household ingredients. As a result, they had better health than the current generation.

In my own experience, I’ve seen a daughter’s skin over coming all rashes to becoming a radiant once I started using natural baby bath products on her.

Organic Baby Bath Products

Right after birth as everyone else, I started using the best off the shelf products I could get for her and she started getting all kind of rashes. Poor child as she has to undergo several tests to find out that she was allergic to most of the chemical products. Determined to make a change, I switched to using natural organic baby bath products. Now that is quite old and doesn’t need baby baht products, I still use natural organic bath products for both of us.

I have also made a move to use only natural bath products which I have mentioned in the post “5 Must-Have Natural Bath Products for a Radiant Life”.

The Criteria for Testing: What I Looked For

As my daughter was suffering from skin rashes and allergies, I was very particular about the kind of stuff I use for her. So based on my need I decided that below features are my priority and I focused on each of them while selecting the products.

Safety and Ingredients

This is one of the most important features in my point of view. Babies are very sensitive to each component and each baby reacts differently. Something which suits my baby may or may not suit another baby. But most often in my experience, as far as product has nil or very less chemicals, it will not harm babies and kids. Same is applicable for adults too but as adults have higher thresholds so we don’t reach as fast as kids.

Safety is surely another important factor while selecting any product. Other than not just treating the skin properly, design of product also needs to be considered.

Effectiveness and Results

No brainer here, definitely the product should be effective and produce the required results. If it’s a soap or cleanser, its purpose is to clean and it should do it. If its shampoo, it should clean hair and scalp without leaving any dirt or oil etc. Also, it should be effective in terms of time taken to do the job, I don’t have to shampoo my baby’s hair multiple times to get rid of dirt and oil, it should work effectively in one go.

Scent and Texture

I prefer no scented products for my baby but if I have to go with scented ones I would prefer natural scents over artificial ones. My favorite in this category is “Cetaphil Baby Shampoo and Body Wash”. It’s has organic Calendula and it’s also tear Free. I prefer smooth texture so that nothing rough touches my baby’s skin or hurt them.

Eco-friendly

As mentioned in my other posts, I have moved to all natural products for my bathroom needs including mine and my partner’s needs. The only thing left now is to reuse the bath water for my garden. Some of my friend’s are already doing it. It’s very important for me to ensure that the products I use are eco-friendly. I am yet to find completely natural organic baby bath products. Even the products I used for my baby have some amount of chemical in them as they are produced commercially.

If you would like to know more about two most common use bath products which you can switch to eco-friendly option, you can check out our post “2 Essential Sustainable Bath Products for an Eco-Friendly Revolution”

Packaging

Almost all store-bought products specially for baby’s section comes in plastic bottles. I am yet to find any eco-friendly packaging even for natural organic kid’s bath products but I try my best to see if I can recycle the plastic bottles. Before recycling I try my best to reuse them. All bath and shampoo bottles are used and used again as a soap dispenser in my bathroom or anywhere else I need. I generally buy kitchen dish washing liquid in 5l or 10l packaging so the I need small bottles to use that. So there comes my reusing 😊

Product Reviews: The Top 5 Organic Baby Bath Products

I am more of a minimalist mom so I try not to buy too many products not just for my baby and I try the same for myself. I generally stick to basic needs. Multipurpose Wash or cleanser, Shampoo, moisturizer and for leisure time a bubble bath and the most important sensitive skin solution. This helps me to declutter and use lesser and lesser chemicals and also lesser consumption helps in saving the planet. I will give you feature comparison of two products which i have used for both of my babies against each feature stated above. Hope that this will help you to choose the product.

Organic Baby Bath Products

When it comes to packaging and eco-friendly quotient for both products, all there product range have same packaging and eco-friendly standards. In my opinion packaging both ranks almost the same but eco-friendly standard Mustela is a few steps ahead of Cetaphil.

Organic Baby Bath Products: The Moisturizing Marvel

The place i live in gets really cold in winter and temperature reached 1-2 degree centigrade. Baby’s skin is very delicate and loosed moisture very fast. So i had to ensure that my kids bath not only clean them but i had to use the moisturizer every day.

I personally tried few brands but as my kids have sensitive skin no it was a difficult task to find something which suits them. But at last after few trial and error i found one. All trial and errors were limited to elder one, younger one just followed her elder sibling. Talk about advantages of being younger… She is a classic example of it.

Mummies and Babies best friend – Diaper Rash Cream

My eldest child suffered greatly from diaper rashes, and I blame myself for not detecting the issue sooner and taking the required safeguards. Fortunately, a close friend who had her baby a few months later introduced me to the wonderful “Mustela Baby Diaper Rash Cream 123.” What a relief that was! I started using it for my kid, and it was like a new beginning for her. The baby who used to fear diaper changes came to enjoy them and even began to play while they were being changed. I burst into tears the first time this happened. It was such a pleasure to see her happy playing, and the entire diaper-changing experience went by without her screaming or me sobbing. My partner, too, was immensely relieved, seeing both of us happy and content.

Organic Baby Bath Products

There are several good qualities in “Mustela Baby Diaper Rash Cream 123” but the best part is that this cream soothes her skin when she had rashes. This helped as I was using cloth diapers not just for being the environment-conscious person I am but also for bringing up my babies with as many natural products as possible in today’s fast life.

Last but not least: Sunscreen – Babies do need it

There is no comparison for sunscreen—my go-to answer is “Babo Botanicals Sensitive Baby Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF-50.” I tried a few other brands, but after a tip from a friend (the same one who mentioned the diaper rash cream), I opted to go with this one, which I still enjoy. It contains safe components and complies with all safety regulations; thus I am entirely satisfied in using it on my infant. What I love most is its excellent consistency—not too thick or too thin. It does not leave a white tinge, which is both irritating and attracts dirt.

Tips for Parents: How to Choose the Right Organic Bath Products

Reading Labels and Ingredients

We need to really know the ingredients of the products we are choosing for our little precious ones. Reading labels carefully can make a significant difference in ensuring your baby’s skin is protected and nurtured. I can understand that most of the product labels are quite confusing to read so sometimes I do rely on my friend’s recommendation and go for tried and tested products. Additionally, I also looks for certifications like USDA Organic or EcoCert that add to my confidence that the product meets high organic standards.

Trial and Error: Finding What Works for Your Baby

Its a painful process but at times there is no other way. Products which works fine for your senior one may or may not work for your junior. You have to go through this process but just one small suggestion, listen to your heart, as a parent you will know what is better for your baby.

Incorporating Organic Products into Your Routine

”We don’t inherit the earth, we borrow it from our children.” Chief Seattle.

Heard this great saying few years back and was stuck by the beauty and truth of it. We all need to work together to make earth more greener and i just try to do my best. Kids do what we do not what we tell them to do. So i started my kid’s organic and natural journey from the time she is born. Now that she is 8+ years, she is a good ambassador of greener earth.

Verdict : Our Choosen Products

Lets not waste time and straight go to the final products.

The Multipurpose Wash or Gentle Cleanser and No tear shampoo:

We compared Mustela Baby Gentle Cleansing Gel – Baby Hair & Body Wash” and “Cetaphil Baby Shampoo and Body Wash with Organic Calendula and Both products are excellent choices, but the best option will depend on your specific needs and preferences. If you prefer a fragrance-free product with a creamy texture, Cetaphil may be the better choice. If you prefer a light scent and a foamy texture with a strong eco-friendly commitment, Mustela may be ideal. I have used Mustela for both my kids and i am very happy with it.

The Moisturizing Marvel:

From an organic and eco-friendly perspective, Mustela Hydra Bebe Body Lotion ranks higher due to its natural ingredients, pleasant scent, effective moisturizing, and strong sustainability efforts. Cetaphil Baby Daily Lotion with Organic Calendula, while effective and gentle, has a lower rating due to its use of some synthetic ingredients and lesser emphasis on eco-friendliness.

Diaper Rash Cream:

No comparison in this department. I loved my “Mustela Baby Diaper Rash Cream 123“. It has worked like a wonder for both my kids and even when they were full of rashes.

Much Needed Sunscreen:

After few trials based on my friend’s recommendation, i tried Babo Botanicals Sensitive Baby Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF-50.” . i think i was fortunate enough that it suited my baby who has sensitive skin. I have a friend whose baby had eczema and she also used this cream and it did work for her too.

I sincerely hope that above article will help you to make informative decision to buy eco-friendly organic products for your babies and i wish all the parents a very happy parenting phase.
